Peer Tutoring
In all my
years of working with students, I have found that the most effective
tutoring occurs through a strong relationship between the educator and
the student. For classroom-based tutoring, this relationship can be
most easily and effectively obtained with one’s peers. Slightly older
students can act as mentors and role models for younger students who are
going through what they went through just a year or two ago. These
students are most up-to-date on the curriculum, the teachers, and the
pressures of today’s classroom.
Now, not any
old peer tutor is going to help your child. At Prep U, we only use
tutors who have spent at least 10 hours working with me, so I know them
and I know their strengths and weaknesses. I only hire tutors who have
the knowledge, responsibility and personality to make a great tutor. It
is easy to know the material; however, it is a challenge to have the
ability to deliver the content in a fun and understandable style that
will stick with a student on test day.
We are
currently offering peer tutoring for Algebra, Geometry, Calculus,
Chemistry, Physics, Biology, U.S. History, European History, World
History, Spanish, French, and Hebrew.
I am excited
to offer this opportunity to my clients, so please feel free to contact
me with questions or to make an appointment.
Best,
